My new favourite eBay seller: Naughty Nostalgia

My eBay find of the year so far has been 'Legs that Dance to Elmer's Tune' - Taschen's book of Elmer Batters' work, long out of print (Taschen books don't seem to sell long before becoming hard to find). More about the book in a subsequent review, but I will say that it was received, mint as described, from eBay seller Naughty Nostalgia.

I'm quite keen on retro smut. Before the Scandinavian porn of the 70s and later, 50's and 60's racy material was rather tamer than we're used to now. I'm certainly not averse to the more explicit - but with a little imagination, you can put yourself in the mindset of the time; where such stuff would have been considered more illicit than some more graphic porn is today.

Anyway, head over to Naughty Nostalgia's store, where there are some great 50s and 60s magazines for sale, previews of which are just about in keeping with eBay's prudish guidelines :) Expect lots of stockings, retro bras, miniskirts and boots - which can only be a good thing - and some appalling decor.

Book Review: Pantyhose Killer Girls

As a card-carrying nylon fetishist, I was pretty much sold just by the title of Edition Reuss' Pantyhose Killer Girls, by Mathias Angelov. However, I'll confess to a little naiveté, even upon seeing the cover; I read it as Pantyhose Killer Girls - killer in the sense of sexy, beautiful, perhaps a bit dangerous... well, perhaps that does apply, but it's actually very much Pantyhose Killer Girls, since the book is themed around models destroying their nylons for the camera.

The models range form 18-28 (the intro paragraph to each photo set tells us as much, and is a nice touch) and are pretty, mostly girls-next-door - at least some are amateur models and all look very much like they are enjoying themselves! Which makes the photographer's assertion in the preface (somebody has to read these things, after all) all the more believable - that he first came across the theme of nylon destruction as an icebreaker.

And destroy them they do, with obvious glee. The tights themselves are mostly plain, no fancy Wolfords here - but they are purely sacrificial - we see them pulled tight between the girls' legs, yanked up over their breasts, before succumbing to fingernails and having holes ripped in them until they are mere shreds of nylon - leaving only persistent seams pressing into their skin.

The tease of glimpsing a model's pussy though the nylon is therefore rewarded a page or two later by seeing it exposed - there's no shortage of explicit nudity here. The style is relatively unsophisticated - this is unashamedly posed glamour rather than evocative erotica... and I'll risk a generalisation by saying that it definitely has a German feel to it. None of which are a bad thing; the book is done in good humour and with a sense of fun - which in itself lends it a different kind of excitement to it.

Print quality and paper is really good, and the book is a nice size at about 25x18cm. You may pay a little more for this than some books, since it's relatively niche; but if it's your niche, then it's a very enjoyable addition to any collection!

Book review: Nylon Girls

Goliath are one of my favourite publishers - not too pretentious, I have a number of fun books from them that I really like. And here's one that grabbed my attention more than most, and was a must-have-pre-order as soon as I saw it - especially with Mosh on the cover.

Christine Kessler is a well-known photographer, largely in the fetish scene; I have her previous Goliath book, Pervy Girls - which is hugely entertaining, but does stray into the realm of full-body-and-face latex getups, which is slightly too kinky for my - cough - delicate sensibilities. No such issues here for me, as something of a nylon, er, enthusiast - this is a relatively small book, about 100 or so pages, approx 19x14cm - but pretty much every page is a winner.

Inside you'll see many well-known faces - fetish and pinup regulars like Ancilla Tilia, Angela Ryan, Emily Marilyn, Darenzia; as well as more well-known glamour models including Stoya, Erica Cambpell and Ryan Keely. The photography is fairly conventional, but excellent - and makes the most of the wonderful models she has at her disposal - capturing everything from pinup pouts to sultry and lusty gazes.

And then, of course, are their legs and what they are clad in. There's pretty much every combination of sheer nylon, fishnet and latex - the latter stretching the book's title but I'm not complaining - in the shape of stockings, tights and knee-highs. Some plain and some patterned - it's almost impossible to choose a favourite, but one stand-out for me is Mandy Murders in a sheer bra, corset, and cuban-heel-stockings-and-suspender-belt-patterned tights.

The only thing I'd like to have seen in this book that it doesn't deliver is more - both in size, I'd love to see these great pictures in an oversized format, and quantity - pretty much every shot here works for me (a few more samples here at Goliath) and I'd happily flick through twice as many pages again and again. That said, it's a great book and although of relatively limited scope, it does exactly what it sets out to in a cute and inexpensive package and hence 9/10.
